About me
My name is Peter Janata, and my journey with Venus flytraps began four years ago when I fell in love with my boyfriend, a gardener. He introduced me to the beauty of plants, and soon after, I bought my first typical Venus flytrap at Garden Centre Chládek in Prague. That small plant sparked a passion that quickly grew into a lifelong fascination.
My First Order of Venus Flytraps
As my interest deepened, I started searching for unique cultivars. My first special varieties came from Mrs. and Mr. Srba, well-known growers in the carnivorous plant community. My boyfriend has contacted them to give me a best present for my birthdays. With each new flytrap, my collection expanded, and so did my knowledge and love for these incredible plants.
Growing in Czechia
I was born in Slovakia but I moved to the Czech Republic when I was 23 years old as a big adventure of my life. This hobby has given me much more than just a greenhouse full of flytraps. It has connected me with amazing people who share the same passion. Through this journey, I've made wonderful friendships and become part of a supportive community of growers.
