Repotting Marathon: Progress and the First Big Restock of the Year

I can hardly believe it myself: about two-thirds of my Venus flytrap collection has already been repotted! The process has been long and intense, but seeing the plants thriving in their new substrate makes every minute worthwhile.

The goal was to have everything done before March. Realistically, that’s not happening — there are still plenty of trays waiting to be repotted. But the end is in sight and the greenhouse is slowly transforming from organized chaos into a collection ready for a new growing season.

Why Repotting Takes So Long

It’s not just about moving soil around. Each flytrap gets individual care: I check the rhizome, inspect the root system and carefully assess the overall health and look of every single plant.

The bigger the plant divides, the more attention it needs. It’s crazy, messy and extremely time-consuming — but also incredibly satisfying when I see them settle into fresh substrate.

First Big Restock of the Year

Once the repotting is complete, the very first major restock will be live on my website. And let me tell you — it’s something to get excited about!

For the very first time I will be able to offer:

🪴 Dionaea Muscipula Mad Snappy
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula GJ Golbat
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula Fiamma
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula FTS Maroon Monster
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula FTS Shogun Star
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula Carnivoria Aurora Borealis
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula Conquiscator
…and others!

Some legendary names will be back too, but in very limited quantities:

🪴 Dionaea Muscipula GJ Explosion
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula GJ Butterfly
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula Alien
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula Cthugha
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula Diabolic Horns
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula Korean Melody Shark
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula Kleopatra
🪴 Dionaea Muscipula Kung Lao

More to Come

If your favourite flytrap isn’t on the list yet, don’t be disappointed! I’m far from finished with repotting. Many other big names will appear soon and there’s plenty to look forward to for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

With hundreds of mature plants, dozens of mini bogs and hundreds of seedlings still waiting, the repotting marathon is far from finished. But seeing my Dionaea Muscipula collection slowly settle into fresh substrate is immensely rewarding.

I can’t wait for you all to see the new plants and enjoy a chance to add some of these rare beauties to your own collections.

Stay tuned, the repotting marathon continues! 🌱
